Registered Electrician

About the Role

As a Registered Electrician at Electric Avenue, you'll be working across a variety of residential and commercial projects, handling everything from general electrical installations to troubleshooting and repairs. Whether it's wiring up a new build, upgrading switchboards, or installing heat pumps, you'll play a key role in ensuring our customers get safe, reliable, and high-quality electrical solutions.

You'll need to be confident working both independently and as part of a team, managing your own workload while keeping customers informed throughout the process. No two jobs are the same, so problem-solving and adaptability are essential.

  • Installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems across residential and commercial properties
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical faults, providing efficient and effective solutions
  • Ensuring all work meets NZ electrical safety standards and regulations
  • Working closely with customers to provide clear communication and excellent service
  • Keeping accurate records of work completed and materials used
  • Staying up to date with industry advancements and best practices
  • Installing heat pumps and ventilation systems, with experience in this a bonus

What We're Looking For

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • A current NZ Electrical Registration and Practicing Licence
  • Full NZ working rights and a valid manual driver's licence
  • Strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience with residential and commercial electrical systems
  • The ability to work independently and within a team
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Great time management and reliability to ensure jobs are completed efficiently
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • A solid commitment to health and safety practices
  • Experience in heat pump installation is a big plus
